The Drunken Boy
(Halyard Shanty of Scyld.)
Chorus:
Heave ho, the drunken boy-o,
Drinks his grog from an old tin can,
Says it fills him full of joy-o,
Ho, the drunken man.
Verse:
What'll we do to make him sober?
Heave ho, the drunken boy.
Take him to the side and throw him over,
Ho, the drunken man.
What'll we do to make him toil?
Heave ho, the drunken boy,
Dose him up with old fish oil.
Ho, the drunken man.
What'll we give him to cook his meat in?
Heave ho, the drunken boy,
The water the cook has washed his feet in.
Ho, the drunken man.
What'll we do to make him fair?
Heave ho, the drunken boy,
Rub some pig fat in his hair.
Ho, the drunken man.
